Most people develop wrinkles as they grow older. Collagen, which gives skin its elasticity, slows down in production. Genetics, sun rays, diet, lifestyle habits and the environment all affect how people age, according to the Health Learning Info website. However, you can temporarily erase wrinkles using certain methods. This facial routine is a quick, simple and affordable solution to erase wrinkles.

Step 1

Wash your face using slow, gentle strokes with your fingertips. Use a gentle cleanser that is appropriate for your skin type. Whether you have dry, oily, combination or sensitive skin, there is a cleanser that will accommodate you.

Step 2

Lightly massage your face using your fingertips to stimulate your skin and improve its appearance. A facial massage is a way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, which can give your skin an older look. A facial massage also tightens the tissues and muscles and increases blood circulation.

Step 3

Hold a hot washcloth to your face and allow the steam to penetrate your skin. Remove the washcloth when it has cooled down, then steam your face once more. The steam softens the surface level of dead skin cells, opens your pores and cleans deep below the surface. Wrinkles and fine lines are smoothed, improving the appearance of your skin.

Step 4

Apply a facial moisturizer that contains sunblock with a sun protection factor of 30 or higher to keep your skin hydrated and protected from the sun, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. A facial moisturizer with sunblock should be used on a daily basis, not only in the summertime.

Step 5

Apply a pore-minimizing lotion to assist in reducing the appearance of your wrinkles and minimize the size of your pores. Pore-minimizing lotions resist sweat and humidity, giving your face a natural and matte finish.

Things You'll Need

  • Gentle facial cleanser
  • Washcloth
  • Facial moisturizer
  • Pore-minimizing lotion
