Teenagers looking to lose weight should find a diet that suits their personalities and lifestyles. It is important to find a program that teaches how to eat healthfully for life so that yo-yo dieting and constant weight gains and losses can be avoided. Be sure to choose a program that doesn't include any unsafe diet pills or pre-packaged products. You should also remember to take a multi-vitamin daily to ensure that you are getting all of the vitamins and minerals needed for growth while you are dieting. Please contact your physician before beginning any diet or fitness plan.

Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers is a popular diet plan where members attend weekly meetings and weigh-ins. At the meetings, you talk with others dieters and are guided by a group leader. Group leaders are people who have been successful with the program and who have been able to sustain their weight loss. Instead of eliminating foods, Weight Watchers allows all foods on its program, but in moderation. All foods are assigned point values. You are given a daily number of points to consume based on your age, sex and weight. This is known as your daily points target. If you are able to stay within your daily points target, then you are likely to lose weight each week. You may earn additional daily points through exercise. If you are not able to attend weekly meetings, you may wish to consider the online program option.

E-Diets

E-Diets is an online diet community that is best for teens looking for anonymous support. When you register with E-Diets, you create an online profile and answer a questionnaire. Based on your answers, the program generates three diets that will work best for you. Choose your diet and begin the program. You will receive menus and shopping lists for the week. You will also receive a detailed suggested fitness plan, including instructions on how to perform the exercises. Track your weight once a week online and talk with peers in the online community about your progress. Share weight loss tips and recipes or provide support to someone who may be struggling. You are granted free access to personal trainers and a nutritionist to help you answer any questions you may have.

The Biggest Loser Club

Biggest Loser Club was formed after the television show "The Biggest Loser" became popular. On the show, contestants are sent to a ranch and put on a rigorous diet and fitness program. At the end of the season, the contestant who loses the most weight wins. The trainers from the television show developed an online community and diet so that the general public could obtain the same diet and fitness program as contestants. On the program, you receive a detailed meal and workout plan. You track your food intake daily and weigh in weekly. You also have the opportunity to chat online with others who are currently on the program.
