The Jenny Craig diet plan, frequently described in television ads by celebrities, claims to help you lose weight if you eat a balanced diet of their gourmet quality food. The diet also seems to encourage healthy eating habits in the form of portion control and food choices.

Food

The Jenny Craig plan requires that you buy your food from Jenny Craig and supplement it with fresh produce and dairy products from the supermarket. There are two ways to receive the food: by online ordering for home delivery or by direct purchase at a Jenny Craig center. The food is either frozen or packaged to be stored on pantry shelves. The dieter may adhere to a program menu or may make personal choices.

Consultants

Like most diet plans, the Jenny Craig diet emphasizes the benefit of having a personal consultant who will be available in person at the diet center, online or by phone. Consultant support includes menu choices, advice and goal-setting. The emphasis on one-on-one consultation is a feature of the program.

The Jenny Craig website offers clients and prospective clients an opportunity to look at the weight loss stories of people whose characteristics are like their own. Before and after photos of both men and women accompany short accounts of their diet successes along with emphasis on the positive changes in their personal and professional lives.
