Installing an in-ground trampoline can give you peace of mind. If many people, particularly children, play on a trampoline, the likelihood of injury is present. An in-ground trampoline guarantees there will not be any sharp falls over the side. This type of installation should planned out carefully before execution. Cave-ins, flooding and sinking are possible if certain measures are not taken first. It may be necessary to install an underground drainage system and build a masonry wall to avoid these problems. Once you figure out the space for the trampoline, you can begin the planning process.

Step 1

Get the measurements of your trampoline including height and width. Allow for for one foot of lateral space so air may flow in and out from beneath the trampoline. This permits better bouncing. To prevent cave-ins, the width of the hole should be equal to the width of your trampoline.

Step 2

Dig the pit for your trampoline using a backhoe or shovel.

Step 3

Prevent standing water after rains by installing perforated drainage pipes. Place them at the center of the circular foundation.

Step 4

Set up masonry blocks on the side walls of the trampoline. Spread mortar between each block to guarantee they stay in place; let it dry for four to six hours.

Step 5

Situate the trampoline frame inside the hole and rest the mat on top. Adjoin the mat to the frame by fastening it to the springs.

Step 6

Affix a safety pad on top of the springs for extra stability. Your in-ground trampoline is ready for use.
