GERD symptoms occur when a muscle in the lower part of the esophagus weakens, allowing stomach acid to splash up into the esophagus. Meats
Choose lean cuts of chicken, fish and turkey. Cold cuts, bacon, sausage, and chicken fat or skin can make GERD symptoms worse, since foods high in fat may aggravate GERD symptoms.
Beverages
The best drink to prevent GERD symptoms is water. Nonmint herbal teas and noncitrus fruit juices, such as apple juice, are also easy on the digestive system. Avoid alcohol, caffeinated beverages, sodas and teas.
