Home to the University of Montana, the Rocky Mountain town of Missoula is located in the western reaches of the state. Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks are nearby attractions, but even Missoula itself, and the surrounding area, is a prime destination for RV and tent campers alike. There are several camping options in and around the city that provide water access, dumping and shower facilities, among other amenities.
Missoula KOA Campground
The Missoula KOA is located just a few minutes from Interstate 90 (I-90) and conveniently situated near many community amenities, including gas stations and grocery and department stores. Campers can rent cabins or spaces in the lodge and make use of showers, a laundry room, fenced dog walks, a pool and hot tubs and free wireless Internet. The KOA accommodates RVs and tent campers, as well, although on-site water is turned off from Oct. 15 to April 15.

Jim and Mary's RV Park
Jim and Mary's RV Park is located at the intersection of I-90 and US Highway 93, just west of Missoula proper. In addition to showers, Jim and Mary's offers laundry services, free cable television and wireless Internet, and is pet-friendly.

Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts
Jellystone is very kid-friendly, offering camping, RV pull-throughs and air-conditioned cabins just west of Missoula off I-90. The Jellystone bathhouse was recognized as the Comfort Station Bathhouse of the Year in 2002 and 2003. This campground also boasts free wi-fi, a pool, miniature golf, a game room and nightly visits from Yogi Bear.

Outpost Campground
Northwest of Missoula, the Outpost Campground provides tent and RV campers alike with a camp shower. This basic accommodation also has a laundry facility, electricity and a playground.

Lolo National Forest Campgrounds
This government-protected property south of Missoula provides a variety of camping options. From plain campsites with drinking water and vault toilets to RV sites and fully equipped cabins, the Lolo National Forest has a rentable space to suit most campers' tastes. These locations are farther outside of Missoula but offer a more complete wilderness experience and can be far cheaper than a more central campground.
