Nioxin Hair Treatment Review

Nioxin hair care products are designed to improve the health of your scalp, to give your hair a fuller, thicker appearance, and to remove DHT, or dihydrotestosterone, an enzyme that has been linked to hair loss in men and women.

Systems

Nioxin features eight different hair treatment systems, each of which is specified for a different hair type. For example, if you have coarse, chemically treated, thin-looking hair, you would use System 7. If you have fine, natural, noticeably thinning hair, you would use System 2.

Components

Each Nioxin system has the same three main components: Nioxin Daily Cleanser; Nioxin Scalp Therapy, a volumizing conditioner; and Nioxin Scalp Treatment, a leave-in formula that helps prevent DHT buildup. Specific ingredients in each component vary depending on which system you use.

Use

Nioxin products works best when used daily, although positive results still occur for those who shampoo less frequently.

Safety

According to the Nioxin website, there are no known side effects associated with Nioxin use. If you are pregnant, or you have a scalp condition, consult a physician before use.

Function

Nioxin does not claim that its products regrow or thicken hair. Nioxin products only help you maintain a healthy scalp, and give your hair a thicker appearance.
