Each two-tablet serving provides 28 percent of the daily value for iron. The iron is in an amino acid chelate form, so that the body can absorb it better than synthetic iron. The Kids Vit has also has nutrients from plants and whole foods, including lutein from marigold extract, and lycopene from tomato extract. You can find these tablets in berry blast and orange splash flavor, and both flavors have fructose and sorbitol as sweeteners. These dietary supplements are vegan and free from preservatives, yeast and salt. The Food and Drug Administration has not evaluated these supplements for safety or purity, and you should always monitor children's access to iron supplements to prevent poisoning.
Nature's Plus
Nature's Plus Source of Life Animal Parade Liquid is an alternative to capsules or chewable tablets. This liquid multivitamin and mineral is in a sweet tropical berry flavor, and its ingredients include fruits like apples, mango, and pineapple. Other whole food ingredients are broccoli, brown rice, and spinach. Each tablespoon of the supplement provides 14 percent of the daily value for iron as iron gluconate, which the Office of Dietary Supplements at the National Institutes of Health states is a supplement form of iron that the body absorbs well. The supplement provides 100 percent of vitamins A, C, D and E, and some of the B vitamins. They also have choline and inositol. The Food and Drug Administration does not examine dietary supplements, and you should always supervise your children's consumption.
