Removing Age Spots Naturally

Age spots, also called liver spots, are large brown, flesh toned circular patches on the skin. The spots resemble large freckles, and commonly appear on the hands, feet, face and arms. Over-exposure to the sun and aging are primarily responsible for the appearance of the spots. Genetics may also contribute to the age spot appearance. The spots are not signs of a disease or cancer, however many people choose to remove them for cosmetic reasons. A variety of natural remedies may eliminate or fade age spots.

Step 1

Cut off a stalk from an aloe vera plant. Slice open the stalk, removing the inside gel and juices. Apply the plant secretions to the age spots. Wrap the aloe vera in plastic and refrigerate to keep fresh.

Step 2

Mix one to two tablespoons of freshly squeezed orange juice with half a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Stir well and massage into the age spots to lighten the skin.

Step 3

Grate a papaya and apply the raw paste to the age spots. Continue treatment until age spots begin to diminish.

Step 4

Dip a cotton ball into castor oil. Gently massage the oil onto the affected area to remove the age spots.

Step 5

Take two to three tablespoons of buttermilk and mix with one tablespoon of tomato paste. Rub onto skin daily. Allow to dry and sit for 20 minutes.

Step 6

Cut open a lemon and rub juices onto age spots. Lemon will naturally lighten the age spots. Repeat daily.
