Natural Cures for Age Spots

Age spots are skin toned circular patches that appear on the skin's surface as a person ages. Sun damage and aging are the primary reason the spots surface. The patches resemble freckles and are commonly found on the face, shoulders, arms and hands. The spots are not a sign of illness, and are commonly removed for cosmetic reasons. Though chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments are used to remove the spots in a clinical setting, a variety of natural methods may also provide a cure.

Step 1

Cut and slice a lemon. Apply lemon slices to age spots several times a day to lighten the skin. Alternatively, mix lemon juice with a small amount of salt or sugar. Rub the paste onto the skin, exfoliating and lightening the age spots.

Step 2

Slice raw potatoes into thin slices. Apply the slices to skin through out the day. If slices are falling off, grind potato into a paste and apply to skin. Leave on for 10 minutes.

Step 3

Pierce one capsule of Vitamin E with a needle. Squeeze the solution out of the capsule, and rub onto the age spot. Apply twice a day; Vitamin E aids in tissue repair. Continue treatment for two months.

Step 4

Slice off a small portion of an onion and blend to make a liquid paste. Combine 2 tbsp. of the paste with 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar. Apply to age spots on a regular basis.

Step 5

Pick fresh dandelions and blend the flowers and leaves to a fine paste. Add water if needed. Massage paste onto age spots every day. Wash skin well after treatment, because dandelion flowers will stain the skin.
