Ping G5 Fairway Woods Review

Ping Golf began producing golf equipment in 1959 and is one of the most prominent brands in golf. It manufactures all types of clubs, along with apparel and other accessories. The G5 is one of its classic fairway woods.

Features

The G5 fairway wood has a large stainless steel head with a strong 455 steel face. It has a rocker sole design, a thin and responsive surface area and variable face thickness. The face is also plasma welded, providing consistent shots.

Specifications

Clubs offered in the G5 series include: the strong 3W, 3W, 5W, 7W, 9W, and LW. Their lofts range from 13 degrees to 27 degrees and lengths from 43 inches to 41 inches. Head size is as large as 190cc on the 3W clubs to as small as150cc on the LW. Steel and graphite shafts are available.

Performance

According to Ping, the steel face and VFT of their G5 Fairway Woods provide high forgiveness and an optimal center of gravity for long, high-launch shots. By squaring the face at impact, the rocker sole provides easier contact at different lies.
