Paddle ball games can keep you entertained while at the beach or at any other outdoor space. Although paddle ball is often played with little to no structure, there are specific paddle ball games that make the basic game more exciting.
1 Wall Paddleball
This paddle ball game requires two teams, one wall, a ball and several paddles. Have a group of friends break up into two teams and hand out paddles to each player. Start the game by serving the ball against the wall with your paddle. A player on the other team must return your serve. Once he successfully returns the serve, another player on your team must run out and return his serve. A point is scored when a player on one team fails to successfully return an opponent's hit. According to the PaddleBall website, you can play games up to 11, 15, 21 or 25 points.
Pickle-Ball
This game is similar to tennis and uses several paddle ball rackets. Have one player line up on each side of a regular tennis court with a paddle in hand. Use an underhand serve to put the ball in play. You must hit the ball from your side of the court into the corresponding square on your opponent's side. Once the ball is in play, you can volley the ball back and forth between you and your opponent. If the ball bounces twice or a shot is hit out of the court then your opponent gets a point. The rules are very similar to tennis and players often break up into doubles matches to increase the fun and intensity.
Beach Paddle Ball
This game requires two paddles, two people, the beach and one paddle ball. Line up 20 feet from a friend with a paddle ball in your hand. Hit the ball into the air toward your friend. Hit the ball back and forth until someone ends the rally. You do not need to keep points during this game. Increase the distance between you and the other player as you improve your rallying skills. Another way to increase the difficulty is to try to perform trick shots. Hitting the ball behind your back or over your head adds flair and excitement to the game.
