Clearwave Light Therapy Acne Treatment

Several acne treatment products are available on the market today, but the ClearWave Light Therapy acne treatment has a significant affect on a majority of people by clearing up mild to moderate acne. Used as part of your daily skin care regimen, you can expect to see results in as little as a few days, especially if your acne typically responds positively to natural sunlight.

The Facts

The makers of ClearWave have found that three quarters of people who try the system---and use it properly---experience relief from acne and most find their skin completely clear after two to three months of regular use. These findings are supported by studies of similar systems outlined in the Journal of Dermatological Treatment. The system uses blue and red wavelengths of light to mimic the effect of the sun's rays without the sunburn. If your acne seems to clear up in the summer when you are able to spend more time in the sun, this system may work for you, too.

How It Works

The ClearWave Light Therapy Acne Treatment system uses 420 nanometer blue light to kill the bacteria deep in your pores. The blue light is combined with 660 nanometer red light to reduce inflammation. These wavelengths mimic natural sunlight without introducing harmful UV rays into the mix and, according to the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy, are ideal alternative treatments for acne.

How to Use It

The system is simple to use: after washing your face in the morning, sit in front of it for 15 minutes. Repeat in the evening before going to bed. Make sure there are no other products on your skin and commit to the treatment for the required time.

Benefits

Many people experience an initial increase in blemishes and whiteheads when they first start to use the ClearWave Light Therapy system---this is normal. Your skin is trying to eliminate the bacteria which causes acne, bringing it up from deep underneath the skin to the surface. These blemishes will disappear in the normal amount of time (typically a few days to a week). At that point, your skin will begin to clear.

Warning

Blue and red light therapy is not typically dangerous. However, you should protect your eyes with a mask or the eye protection that comes with the system. Keep your eyes closed while sitting close to the light, as well.
