At-home spa treatments provide the benefits of what you can find in a spa without the expense. There are effective facials that you can apply at home that can offer relaxing and rejuvenating effects. Most of the spa facials that you can use at home can be made from common ingredients and are easy to apply. You can use a spa brush or your hands to evenly apply the mask to your entire face and not around the eyes.

Cleansing Facials

Cleansing facials work by penetrating the pores under the skin to remove dirt and impurities. You can create a cleansing facial by using a mask that is available in the store, or by using ingredients such as honey, oatmeal, milk or spa mud. Before you apply the mask, be sure to cleanse the skin with a gentle wash and dry completely. After applying the mask, rinse with warm water. To create a mask made for deep cleansing, combine the spa mud or clay, 1 tbsp. honey, 1/4 cup oatmeal and 2 tbsp. milk.

Moisturing Masks

Moisturizing masks are used to help nourish and moisturize the skin. These types of mask are best for dry or flaky skin. The ingredients found in moisturizing masks include honey and milk. You can create an easy-to-use mask using avocado as a base to help bring essential nutrients to your skin. You should always exfoliate the skin prior to the application of the mask to allow the mask to penetrate deep below the surface of the skin. Use one avocado and add in 1 tbsp. of honey and 1 tbsp. milk.

Anti-Aging Masks

Using an anti-aging mask at home can be an effective way to reduce the signs of aging and to help your skin look and feel younger. The active ingredients that you can use in these masks are honey, eggs, cucumber and essential oils. You can use whichever essential oils you prefer and add a few drops to the mixture of cucumber, honey and two eggs that you can blend together. The mask can be applied to dry and clean skin. You want to leave the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes or until dry. Rinse the mask off with warm water and apply an anti-aging cream to lock in the moisture.
