Regardless the level of your skiing ability, one of Michigan's more than 40 ski resorts is sure to have what you are looking for. From the southern border near Indiana to the shores of Lake Michigan, cold winter days and nights lead to both natural and man-made snow covered slopes.
Greenville
Tower Mountain in Greenville, north of Grand Rapids, is a 10-acre park is well-suited for beginning skiers and snowboarders. A single two rope serves both the skiing and snowboarding hill along with a sledding and tubing hill located adjacently. The tow rope service is only available when at least four inches of snow provides a base and the tow rope is free to use.
Boyne Falls
Boyne Mountain, in Boyne Falls, has 59 downhill runs, 12 chair lifts, 35 kilometers of groomed cross-country trails and night skiing to keep visitors busy. Snowboarders are sure to enjoy the 700-foot Superpipe, terrain parks and night riding. Want to enjoy the outdoors but skiing does not suit you? Boyne Mountain offers snow tubing, snowshoeing, ice skating, dog sledding and horseback riding for everyone to enjoy.
Otsego
Approximately 20 minutes north of Kalamazoo in Otsego is Bittersweet Ski Area, a family oriented day park. Bittersweet has 20 ski runs and a terrain park for snowboarders, served by four tow ropes and seven chair lifts. The ski shop offers professional adult, youth and private ski and snowboarding lessons, equipment rental and service. Night skiing and snowboarding is available throughout the week and weekend on natural and man-made snow.
Clarkston
Located between Detroit and Flint, Pine Knob Ski Area in Clarkston has everything you need for a day of skiing with the family. More than 20 runs for skiers and snowboarders alike are all served by five tow ropes and seven chairlifts. The ski shop offers professional ski and snowboard lessons for adults and children taught by world-class ski instructors. Snow machines are used to completely cover the entire ski area to ensure run availability and conditions are consistently monitored.
Brighton
Mount Brighton, located between Lansing and Detroit, is a 130-acre park with a 250-foot vertical drop. Skiers and snowboarders can hone theirs kills on 26 runs and a snowboard terrain park that includes a Volkswagon Beetle and an extended half-pipe. Seven chairlifts and 11 tow ropes provide access to all runs and the terrain park. The ski shop offers ski instruction for adults and children, a race program and equipment rentals.
