The Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 attempts to balance controllability, stability and comfort. Although considered a recreational kayak, Pungo 120 offers a wide range of features often reserved for longer day touring boats. Wilderness Systems claims this is its bestselling boat.
Specifications
The Pungo 120 measures 12 feet long by 29 inches wide. It can carry up to 325 lbs. and weighs 40 lbs. The cockpits extends 57 inches and is 22 inches wide, which makes getting into and out of the kayak easy. The deck height at the front of the cockpit measures 13 inches.

The Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 features deck rigging, a stern hatch and bulkhead for easy access to dry storage, a comfortable Phase 3 seat, big carry handles fore and aft, and an adjustable foot brace system. Thigh and knee padding provides comfort for your legs when sitting in the kayak. Fore and aft bungee cords make stashing gear easy.
Options
The Pungo 120 comes in two materials. Rotomolded polyethylene is a durable plastic that takes a beating. The other material, thermoformed Ultralite, provides the stiffness of fiberglass and durability of plastic at a reasonable price.
Price
In 2010, Wilderness Systems had a suggested retail price of $825 for the polyethylene model and $1,299 for the Ultralite model.
