The word "prediction" indicates divination. As of today, no accurate ways exist to predict or select the sex of the baby. Still, old wives' tales and folklore traditions say you can predict the sex of your baby with a few moves and calculations. You can even guess the sex of the baby-to-be by some of your habits and reactions since you've become pregnant. Some methods have a better track record than others, but in the end, keep in mind they're all for fun.

Step 1

Take a look in the mirror. According to iVillage, you're carrying a boy if you're carrying most of the weight in your belly, rather than in your hips and thighs. Women carrying boys are supposed to be carrying low, while baby girls are said to position themselves higher in the abdomen. On the other hand, baby girls cause breasts to grow larger but also result in breakouts on your face and cause you to develop red highlights.

Step 2

Use the Chinese Fortune Calendar predictor. This simple online calendar takes into consideration your date of birth and the time of conception to come up with the sex of your baby. The calendar predictor will also give you your future's baby Chinese age and his lunar month at the time of conception.

Step 3

Look inside your kitchen cabinets. Boys are supposed to increase cravings for salty snacks and animal products, while girls can cause cravings for sweets and sugars. Girls are also supposed to cause morning sickness in the early months of pregnancy, so if you find yourself shunning the food around the house, you might be carrying a girl.

Step 4

Pay attention to the kicking activity. If you have a very active baby, it's more likely to be a boy. Girls tend to be more chill when in the womb. Fetal heart rate is higher in girls. The general belief is that a fetal heart rate of more than 140 indicates a girl, while lower numbers are sign of a boy coming.

Step 5

Try the old ring system. Take your wedding ring and tie it up with a piece of string or, if possible, with a long strand of your own hair. Lie on your back and then hang the ring over your belly. If it moves from side to side, you're having a boy. If it circles, you're having a girl.
