Mineral makeup is a loose powder cosmetic product that is commonly applied with a full facial brush. The makeup has become popular for its abilities to cover flaws and blemishes, and to even out skin tone. Several companies produce mineral makeup and promote only natural ingredients; makeup is claimed to be preservative free and contains no fragrances or oils. Use a brush that has densely packed soft bristles to apply the makeup.
Step 1
Wash face and pat dry. Apply toner and moisturizer following your regular skin care regimen. Ensure all moisturizer has been absorbed before applying mineral makeup.
Step 2
Open foundation and gently tap container to loosen powder with your hand or handle of the brush. Tap brush into container to set makeup on the bristles. Remove loose powder clumps by lightly knocking brush onto container's side, allowing loose powder to fall back into the container.
Step 3
Use a swirling motion to add a light foundation base to the skin. Start at jaw line and swirl the brush evenly upwards, always in a circular motion. Remember to use light layers because mineral makeup does not require a lot of the cosmetic product to be used. Add more foundation if necessary in stages.
Step 4
Add blush to the face using the same swirling technique. Apply blush to apples of the cheek, beginning at the inner cheek and moving to the hairline.
Step 5
Use a clean cosmetic sponge to remove any heavy areas of powder. Swipe the sponge lightly downward on the face to fill in pores or lay down facial hair.
