Most people who go camping want to get away from the hustle and bustle and find an escape from their everyday world. But some people want to take a little of that everyday life with them when they go camping. If you are one of those people, there is some electronic equipment you can take along--and some things to consider if you do.

Basic Equipment

Most people bring some electronic basics with them on a camping trip. This essential equipment includes flashlights, batteries, a watch, and phones or walkie-talkies for communication. This equipment can make your camping trip safer and more enjoyable.

More Equipment

Beyond the basics, there are many other electronic devices you could take on a camping trip, including a GPS system to help you navigate your way; digital cameras and digital video cameras to record your memories; crank, solar-powered or battery-powered radios; an MP3 player; and night-vision goggles. Although none of this equipment is vital, it could help to improve the overall experience of your trip.

Power Supply

If you bring along electronic equipment, you need to be able to power it. For some, such as flashlights and GPS units, you might need to bring only extra batteries. Other devices might require more-powerful power sources, such as generators, car chargers or solar power generators.

RV Camping

RV campers often bring a full array of electronics, including televisions, video game systems and DVD players. If you plan to run these electronics, make sure your RV campsite has electrical service or your camper battery is fully charged.

Considerations

Remember that electronic equipment can cause electrocution or get ruined when it gets wet. Since you are camping outdoors, there can be rain; be sure you have a way to keep all your electronic devices dry.
