The men's Outland Mid Waterproof hiking boot is manufactured by outdoor apparel company Merrell. The mid-cut boot is for all-around rugged outdoor activity, including all types of hiking and backpacking trips.

Waterproof and Odor Features

The boot's waterproof construction blocks penetration of liquids yet allows ventilation. The bellows tongue keeps debris out of the inside of the shoe. The shoe is treated with an antimicrobial solution that repels moisture and controls odor.

Stability and Comfort Features

The boot has molded heel counters, side bumpers, an EVA foot frame and air-cushioning. Traction features for braking and gripping include Vibram "Multi-Traction Plus" sole lugs. There is an external heel counter for stability. The arch is made of molded nylon.

Style

The boot has a light brown nubuck leather upper and an abrasion-resistant rubber toe cap. The lightweight boot weighs 2 pounds, 5 ounces.

Cost

The Outland Mid Waterproof is available directly from the manufacturer's website. As of 2010, the price was $125 at the Merrell website and at online retailers.
