Though the city proper of Davenport, Iowa, is only home to one RV park, there are several additional unique options located within minutes of Davenport's city limits. The Iowa side parks offer sunrise views, and the Illinois side offers sunset views. Depending on your mood, you can also choose to camp near lakes, in a forest setting, along the Mississippi River or all three.

Lake Camping

West Lake Park is located on the outskirts of the city of Davenport just off the I-280 bypass. The park has two campground areas with electricity, water and/or sewer hookups, modern restrooms and a playground within one of the campgrounds.

The park is situated on four separate lakes that comprise West Lake where you can fish, swim or slow boat including in the paddle boats available for rent.

Outside the camping area, you can also play on a playground, picnic in a shelter or at one of the many available picnic tables or play a round of disc/Frisbee golf in the recently installed course located in this 620-acre park.

Forest Camping

Just north of the city of Davenport, you can camp in one of the five unique camping areas available at Scott County Park, which is located a few miles east of U.S. Highway 61. The camping areas offer modern restrooms and showers. While you are camping, you can enjoy the swimming pool, numerous hiking and multiuse forest trails, playground structures or equestrian areas in this 1,290-acre park.

Mississippi River Camping in Iowa

If you want to venture out of the preserve, you can ride your bike, walk or rollerblade on the multiuse path running along the Mississippi River more than 40 miles up the river to Savanna, Illinois. You can access the path at several locations including the parking lot at Empire Park in Hampton where your kids can play on the massive wooden play structure also in Empire Park.
