Even if you are not overweight, you can still have cellulite on many areas of your body, including your stomach. Weight loss may help to decrease it, but cellulite is often a genetic condition that results from a build-up of fat and fluid under the skin, as well as a loss of collagen. No products will banish cellulite completely. However, creams exist that can temporarily decrease the appearance of cellulite by releasing trapped fluids and tightening up the skin. Regular application can help you get rid of some of the cellulite on your stomach.

Step 1

Clean your stomach with a non-irritating body wash that will get rid of dirt and impurities. This will ensure that the cellulite cream gets absorbed into your skin as efficiently as possible.

Step 2

Use a body brush made with natural bristles to exfoliate your skin in the shower. This will clear out your pores and slough off dead skin cells, as well as increase your skin's circulation and prepare it for the cream application. Wet the brush and rub it over your stomach, using a circular motion.

Step 3

Dry your skin, and immediately apply a cellulite cream that contains caffeine. According to dermatologist Macrene Alexiades-Armenakas, M.D., applying a product that contains caffeine to your skin will tighten your blood vessels, which will cause your fat cells to shrink temporarily, and this helps diminish the appearance of cellulite. The "Cosmopolitan" magazine website recommends using Clarins Super Restorative Redefining Body Care, which has been designed specifically for the cellulite on your stomach and waistline. This cream promises to moisturize and firm your skin, while working to make your waist look more defined by stimulating the production of collagen. Squeeze a handful of cream onto your palms, and rub it into your skin, using a vigorous massaging motion. This type of application will help release trapped fluids, as well as even out your skin's texture.

Step 4

Wash your body again at night, and reapply the cream. Alexiades-Armenakas notes that you have to keep the cellulite cream on your skin constantly for it to work and for progress to be made. Smooth the cream onto your stomach at least twice, if not three times, a day.

Step 5

Apply a retinol or silicone-based cream before bed, if you feel that you need additional treatment. These ingredients work to fill in lumps and bumps, and help make your skin feel smoother. Use the same massaging action to apply this cream as you used to apply the caffeine cream.

Things You'll Need

  • Body brush
