Trampolines are a source of fun and exercise for the whole family. Children love bouncing on the mat as much as adults love to complement their cardio exercise routine. However, many preventable injuries result from improper use, and installing trampoline pads is one of the most effective ways to keep trampoline users safe. Pads provide protection from hard landings on hooks, the frame and springs, and keep body parts from being pinched. Trampoline pads also are a visual barrier that help identify the trampoline's edge.

Step 1

Spread the pad around the periphery of the trampoline. The spring loops underneath the pad should be facing down.

Step 2

Align the pad so that spring loops and grommet holes sit over the trampoline's legs.

Step 3

Locate the spring connected to the leg, pull it toward you by lifting up and unhooking it from the frame. Slide the loose end of the spring through the spring hoop underneath the pad, then hook the spring back onto the frame.

Step 4

Insert the looped end of the pad bungee through the grommet next to the spring loop. Pull the T-shaped end through the other grommet.

Step 5

Grab the looped end of the pad bungee and wrap it around the top of the trampoline leg. Pull the T-shaped end through the loop to fasten the pad bungee to trampoline leg.

Step 6

Connect all spring loops and pad bungees around the perimeter of your trampoline. Check the pad to make sure it is securely attached to the metal frame.
