Travel exercise bands are regular exercise bands that are used while on the road. They are made out of strong rubber and they are in the shape of a tube with handles. When these are used, the muscles don't know the difference between a tube, a dumbbell or body weight. That is what makes them an effective tool to work your body when you are traveling.
Significance
Getting into shape and losing weight are never easy things to do. When you spend many hours in the gym and make a lot of progress, it is important to stay on track while you are away and to avoid falling off the wagon. Exercise bands make this possible.
Features
Travel exercise bands are easy to roll up and store in your suitcase, backpack, brief case and purse, or you can even drape them around your neck to carry them. They also offer a strong nylon attachment that can be slid into the hinge side of a door to stabilize the band while you do an exercise.
Size
When you use conventional free weights such as dumbbells, you have a wide selection of weights to choose from. Travel exercise bands are the same way. They come in various colors with a corresponding resistance to match each one. They are sized from extra light to extra heavy.
Exercises
There is no body part that you can't work with travel exercise bands. An example of an exercise for each muscle group includes chest presses, shoulder presses, back rows, tricep extensions, bicep curls, squats and chops. If you are stuck at the airport with a long layover, you can take out your bands and do a whole workout before you even get to your destination.
Identification
If using one band doesn't offer you enough resistance, such as in bicep curls, for example, you can use two at once. To make them easier to grip, grab the tubes right under the handles and let the tops of your hands press into the hard plastic for more support. These are called "hammer curls."
