The Playtex Diaper Genie II gives you a convenient way to dispose of your child's soiled diapers. The Diaper Genie clamps the inner garbage bag closed over each dirty diaper you insert, keeping the smell contained until you're ready to dispose of the entire bag at once. If you feel resistance when you insert a soiled diaper into the Diaper Genie, the bag is full and you need to replace it immediately.
How to Use
Step 1
Roll the soiled diaper tightly, keeping the adhesive tabs tucked inside the roll so they don't adhere to, and then rip, the bag inside the Diaper Genie.
Step 2
Step on the Diaper Genie foot pedal. The lid will swing up, revealing the plastic bag beneath.
Step 3
Push the rolled diaper down into the bag. Continue pushing down until you feel the clamp inside the Diaper Genie close over the diaper, locking it and the smell away until you're ready to change the bag.
Step 4
Release the foot pedal. The lid will automatically swing shut.
Emptying and Refilling
Step 1
Press the button on the front of the Diaper Genie II and tilt the top half of the machine back until it rests on the floor.
Step 2
Pull up enough slack in the refill bag to knot it above the last dirty diaper. Slice through the bag with scissors, or pull it across the childproof cutter located near the hinge that joins the two halves of the Diaper Genie II.
Step 3
Knot the bag above the last dirty diaper and discard the bag. If you've got a significant amount of clean bag left in the Diaper Genie II, pull out enough empty bag to reach down into the bottom of the Diaper Genie and knot the end. Otherwise, discard the old bag remnants and remove the plastic seal on a new refill pack. Pull the plastic film up through the top of the refill and push it down through the center. Pull out enough slack to reach to the bottom of the Diaper Genie II and knot the end.
Step 4
Thread the plastic film down through the clamp on the Diaper Genie II and position the ring so it sits on top of the Diaper Genie pail. Swing the top of the Diaper Genie back in place over the empty bags.
Tips and Warnings
- A red mark on the bag inside the Diaper Genie II indicates it's about to run out.
