According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, there are more sweat glands on the palms of the hands and on the soles of feet then any other part of the human body. Sweating in these areas is a very common problem, but it can be dealt with. There are a number of over-the-counter, home remedies for sweaty hands and feet.

Antiperspirant

According to Mother Nature, there are many antiperspirants available that are over-the-counter products and work well. Deodorants are not antiperspirants; however, some deodorants may contain antiperspirant properties. The most effective antiperspirants are the ones that contain aluminum chlorohydrate, or some other kind of aluminum salt that helps to block the ducts of the sweat glands on the hands and feet. Antiperspirants can be applied anywhere on the body.

Rubbing Alcohol

Applying a little bit of rubbing alcohol the affected areas on hands and feet can help to constrict the pores and reduce the sweating for several hours, according to Mother Nature. Rubbing alcohol needs to be applied carefully, as it can stain clothes. It should only be applied once or twice per week; too much rubbing alcohol can cause skin to become dry and irritated.

Witch Hazel

Witch hazel leaves or bark have been used as a traditional medicine for a long time and can help treat a number of conditions, according to Drugs.com. "Natural Health Magazine" suggests that witch hazel can be used as an effective treatment to fight sweaty hands and feet. A cotton ball soaked with witch hazel applied to the hands and feet at least three times a week will help to absorb excess sweat.
