Rolypig Composter Review

The Rolypig Composter is a compact manual composter that helps you turn organic household waste into mulch and fertilizer for your garden. The Rolypig is brightly colored and designed to resemble a pig, complete with ears and a snout.

Design

The outer shell of the Rolypig is a cylinder with 10 flat sides. Its front end has a chute with a snout-shaped hinged lid. The inside of the Rolypig features four separate compartments.

Use

Kitchen waste is "fed" into the Rolypig's first compartment. When this compartment becomes full, the Rolypig is rolled onto its next flat side to make room for new waste. As the Rolypig is systematically turned, waste moves through each compartment, where it slowly breaks down. Fully composted waste ends up in a drawer in the fourth compartment, where it can be removed and used.

Features

The Rolypig aerates as it rolls, and no additional manual aeration is needed. It is completely enclosed to avoid odors and pests.

Capacity/ Size

The Rolypig measures 32 inches in height, 43 inches in length and 31 inches in width. It's designed for the average family's garden and kitchen waste output and has a 25-liter fresh waste capacity per week.

Availability/ Price

The Rolypig is available on Amazon.com, where it costs $299 as of summer 2010.
