Unwanted hair on the face can be the bane of women and some men but you don't have to live with it and you don't need to use harmful chemical products to remove it. While shaving is not a good option for women and is impractical in areas such as the eyebrows and chin, sugar waxing can be molded to fit small areas on your face and will remove hair at the root so it grows back finer. Sugar paste can be made in your kitchen using all natural ingredients.
Step 1
Melt sugar, water and lemon juice over medium heat until the mixture turns a golden amber color. Remove from the heat and allow the sugar mixture to cool on the counter or in the refrigerator until it takes on the consistency of firm putty.
Step 2
Prepare your face for waxing by washing off makeup, creams and oils and drying your skin thoroughly.
Step 3
Pinch off a piece of the sugar paste and press it to your skin over the hair you want to remove. Mold the sugar so it forms a strip on your skin.
Step 4
Grab one end of the strip with your fingers and hold the skin of your face taut with your other hand as you pull the strip quickly off your skin against the direction of hair growth.
Step 5
Clean off excess hair and sugar mix with warm water.
Tips and Warnings
- If the sugar paste becomes too soft and sticky, place it in the refrigerator for a couple of minutes to firm up. Store extra sugar paste in an airtight container in the refrigerator for later use.
