Visible facial fuzz may cause both men and women to fret -- but there's no need to let an unwanted genetic predisposition to hair growth or hormonal changes rule your facial features. Although many opt for laser hair removal, electrolysis or chemical creams to clear their skin, these solutions do have their downsides and aren't even an option for some. Avoid the risks of postinflammatory hyperpigmentation from procedures and chemical side effects by banishing facial hair naturally.
Consult a gynecologist or endocrinologist to determine whether your facial hair growth is caused by a correctable hormonal problem or must be handled at home.
Exfoliate the skin to discourage hair growth and remove fine hairs. Mix 1 cup chickpea flour, 3 tablespoons powdered turmeric, and almond oil to make a paste. Rub the paste into your skin to exfoliate, then wash it away with water.
Shave hair growth. Dampen your skin, then smooth shaving cream or gel over it. Shave in the direction of hair growth to prevent irritation. Rinse face and moisturize.
Pluck individual hairs. Grasp each hair at the root with a pair of tweezers, and pull gently in the direction of growth to remove.
Consult a professional threader, who will twist cotton thread against your skin to trap and pull unwanted hairs.
Wax with Sugar
Mix 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water and the juice from 1/2 a lemon to create your own natural hair-removal wax.
Pour the mixture into a saucepan, and heat it on a medium stovetop setting until melted. Do not let the mixture boil or burn.
Let the mixture cool until lukewarm. Test the mixture on the inside of your wrist to be sure that it is not too hot.
Spread the mixture over a 1/4-inch-long area of your face, using your fingers or a waxing applicator. Lay a small cloth strip on top of the spread mixture, so that the strip adheres to the sugar wax.
Let the sugar wax cool completely on your face. Place your fingers of one hand next to the cloth, then use your other hand to pull the cloth strip away in the direction of the hair growth.
Press down immediately on the freshly sugared area to help to relieve any discomfort. Repeat the sugaring process over all the areas that contain unwanted hair.
