Cherry Creek State Park
Often referred to as Denver's back yard, Cherry Creek State Park features an 880-acre reservoir surrounded by rolling prairies and riparian habitats. More than 40 species of mammals inhabit the park, as well as the bullsnake, a non-venomous reptile that is often mistaken for a rattlesnake.
Like Chatfield Reservoir, Cherry Creek has a large off-leash dog training area. Year-round sites are available for guests, and most have full hookups.
