Brown County is one of Indiana's most picturesque counties. The rolling hills and lush forests create beautiful landscapes. Outdoor recreation opportunities abound. For art lovers, the county seat of Nashville is the Midwest's most concentrated artist community. Local artists, artisans and crafters live year-round in the historic town, making Nashville a destination of choice for casual and professional art collectors.

Brown County State Park

One of the most popular camping destinations is Brown County State Park. The park has over 70 miles of horse trails and 12 miles of hiking trails. Brown County State Park also hosts the largest nature preserve in the state.

The campground has over 600 campsites, including 401 tent and RV sites with electric hook-ups, 28 rustic sites, and over 200 sites for campers with horses. The campground has a fully stocked camp store and dumping station.

Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park and Campground

Music lovers will have a wonderful experience at the Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park and Campground. The campground began in 1967 with Monroe's first bluegrass festival. In the last decades years, the park and campground has grown tremendously, hosting several music festivals a year on the 55-acre grounds.

The campground is open May through October, and has over 300 sites with electric hook-ups. Campers can choose wooded or open sites. The campground offers public shower and restroom facilities, a laundry facility, fully-stocked camp store and campsite WiFi for an additional fee. Pets are welcome at the campground, although may be prohibited at select festivals, so call pet owners should call in advance.

Last Resort RV Park & Campground

The Last Resort RV Park & Campground offers both cabins and camp sites from April 1 to November 1. The sites are large enough to accommodate RVs with awnings and pop-outs. Tents and pop-up campers are also welcome. The Last Resort also has cabins for visitors who want more comfortable accommodations. All cabins have heat and air conditioning, as well as an individual picnic table and grill. Almost every site has water, sewer and electric hook-ups.

Wi-Fi access is available throughout the camp. A fully-stocked camp store and playgound are available for guests. In addition, the camp has an extensive recreation building and outdoor pool.

Valley Branch Retreat & Paintball Valley

Families can have a full vacation on the 500-acre Valley Branch Retreat & Paintball Valley in the Brown County hills. The complex offers over 30 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails. Valley Branch has hosted DINO, LOCO, and Planet Adventure races on their nationally accredited trails. For paintball enthusiasts, Paintball Valley has over 300 acres of paintball fields for players at all skill levels.

Valley Branch Retreat has both full hook-up and primitive camp sites. Visitors who want more comfortable accommodations may want to reserve one of the themed cabins, which all offer heat, air conditioning, microwave and refrigerator. Campers have access to full restrooms and showers, and receive discounts on paintball adventures.

RedBarn Jamboree & RV Park

RedBarn Jamboree & RV Park is located just yards from the entrance to the Brown County State Park in the Brown County hills. The park offers pull-in RV sites, tent sites with and without hook-ups and cabins. The park also has limited RVs for rent and a small number of sites for visitors with horses.

The RedBarn Jamboree hosts weekly family entertainment events, including music, theater, lectures and more. In addition, the park has a farmer's market every Saturday morning and a flea market on Saturday afternoon, featuring local art, antiques and more.
