How to Get Rid of Big Pimples Fast

Large pimples can be both unattractive and painful. They can be treated quickly and effectively by drying out the pus that has swollen the pimple so large and killing the bacteria that created the pimple in the first place, according to "Braun-Falco's Dermatology." Daily treatment is required to successfully treat large pimples and prevent them from reappearing, according to "Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice."

Step 1

Rinse your face with warm water. This will dilate your skin's pores, allowing the treatments to kill the bacteria causing your large pimples, according to "Handbook of Dermatology: A Practical Manual."

Step 2

Cleanse your face gently with a facial cleanser. Use a circular motion, focusing on your blemishes, which according to "Braun-Falco's Dermatology," is better than using a scrubbing motion, which can cause microscopic tears in your skin.

Step 3

Saturate a cotton swab with lemon juice and use the cotton swab to apply the lemon juice to your pimples. Use a new cotton swab for each pimple to prevent the spread of bacteria. According to "Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice," the acidity of the lemon juice will kill much of the bacteria causing the pimples. Additionally, its drying properties will dehydrate the pimple, quickly reducing its size.

Step 4

Rinse your face with cool water to constrict the pores on your face, which according to "Braun-Falco's Dermatology," will prevent oil and bacteria from entering your pores and creating additional pimples.

Step 5

Apply a small amount of benzoyl peroxide cream to a cotton swab. Use the cotton swab to apply the benzoyl peroxide cream to your pimples. Use a new cotton swab for each pimple to avoid spreading bacteria from one pimple to another. According to "Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice," the benzoyl peroxide will work to kill pimple-causing bacteria for several hours after application.
