Being physically active keeps seniors feeling younger, and can help with mental fitness as well. Dallas is one of the largest metroplex areas in the United States. Dallas is well liked by residents, and is a popular destination for tourists. From seeing a Dallas Cowboys game to visiting the Dallas Arboretum, seniors will find that this city offers many places and ways for them to be active.
Dallas Arboretum
The Dallas Arboretum offers special events for seniors 65 and older. Spring is one of the best times to see the arboretum when many flowers are in bloom. At different times during the year, the Arboretum offers discounts for seniors. The park is wheelchair accessible and has a limited number of wheelchairs available. In spring, the park has lunchtime teas. Tickets include admission to the park, parking, a tip for the server and tea--a light lunch with soup, sandwiches, tea and dessert.

Church Seniors Groups
Seniors groups at churches can be a wonderful network to be involved with. These groups offer a safe and fun way to socialize. The First Baptist Church of Dallas has a group called Forerunners. In addition, the group takes trips like an upcoming event that will take the group to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. That will include a conference and trip to Dollywood. The Forerunners has more than six Sunday school groups to meet your needs based on a variety of teachings.
