Favorite Bay Fishing Lodge in Alaska

Favorite Bay Lodge offers all-inclusive fishing vacations in Angoon, Alaska. Located on Admiralty Island, the lodge provides saltwater and freshwater fishing opportunities. Favorite Bay uses local fishing guides who know the area well. All guides are certified by the United States Coast Guard. Guests who don't fish will find a range of outdoor activities available at the lodge.

Accommodations

Despite its remote location, the lodge provides upscale lodging with modern amenities. The library has a computer workstation with Internet access. All 12 rooms feature full baths with bathtub and shower. The lodge's gourmet chef prepares four-course dinners, full breakfasts and gourmet boxed lunches for guests to take with them on their fishing trips. The chef will accommodate special dietary needs.

Saltwater Fishing

The lodge uses local guides who own their own boats. Anglers can catch big halibut, rockfish and all five types of wild Pacific salmon. King salmon season runs from mid-May to mid-July. Silver salmon season runs from July through mid-September. Pink salmon is most plentiful from late June until the end of August. July is the best month for chum salmon. Halibut and rockfish season runs from mid-May through mid-September. The lodge provides all fishing equipment and foul weather gear for its guests.

Freshwater Fishing

Local streams have steelhead trout, dolly varden and cutthroat fishing. Guests can fish with a guide by kayak, canoe or on the shore. Steelhead season runs from the middle of May through the end of July. Trout season lasts from mid-May through mid-September.

Other Activities

Guests who don't want to fish can enjoy other outdoor activities at the lodge, such as whale-watching excursions in Chatham Straits. Tongass National Forest has rivers, waterfalls and a hidden lake. Hiking through the forest is a great way to see local wildlife. The lodge offers kayaking trips, which include a guide, equipment, foul-weather gear and lunch. Guests can even trap their own Dungeness crabs.

Rates And Reservations

Rates are all-inclusive. The lodge offers packages from three to seven days. Guests who wish to stay longer pay a flat rate for each subsequent day. The price includes accommodations, meals, a guided outing each day and a round trip seaplane ride from Juneau. Guests must pay a non-refundable deposit when making reservations.
