While there are many ineffective diet plans available, a few gems have shone through. One of the best ideas is also the simplest: don't ingest miracle drugs, but only healthy foods. Your Salter diet scale can help you cook these nutritious foods by giving you a precise readout of the food's weight. Too often, casual chefs will estimate how much of an ingredient is needed because they don't have the right tools. Use your Salter diet scale properly and you can follow the recipe to cook tastier meals.
Measuring Foods
Step 1
Place the food inside the Salter diet scale. Make sure that all of it is within the container otherwise the reading might not be accurate. If the object is light, push it down so that it touches the bottom of the container.
Step 2
Look at the bottom number on the scale. This is the object's weight in ounces. Move in closer to see how close or far it is from the nearest ounce. The number before the nearest ounce is the one you should record.
Step 3
Examine the next set of dashes. These smaller dashes represent quarter ounces. Look at where the needle is and count the number of dashes behind it. Your measurement so far is the number of ounces followed by the number of quarter ounces.
Step 4
Look at the number outside of the scale's circle. These are grams in quantities of fifty; the smallest dashes are grams in increments of five. Record the amount of grams before the needle if the recipe calls for grams. Some models may not feature the gram measurement.
