The Simmons SD5K Electronic Drum Kit creates the feel and sound of an entire drum kit, but folds down and stores in a fraction of the space. You control the drum kit's electronic settings through a multifunction LED display.
Effects
The SD5K sound module contains 237 voices. The drum kit comes with 22 preset configurations, and allows you to store up to 10 more custom kit configurations. The sound module also includes a reverb effect, a built-in metronome, and 48 preset songs.
Design
The Simmons SD5K is built of lightweight aluminum. All the drum pads have adjustable rack placement, height and angle settings, with locking hinges to hold them in place. The kit includes pads for a hi-hat, crash cymbal, ride cymbal, snare drum, kick drum and three tom drums.
Price
As of August 2010 the SD5K has an MSRP of about $1,000. But you can regularly find it on sale for $400 to $500 from online retailers like Amazon.com and GuitarCenter.com.
