Association of Maternal and Child Health Care
The Association of Maternal and Child Health Care, or AMCHP, has over 300,000 children and women in the health care program that they offer. Beyond just health care, this program offers transportation to children who need to get to the hospital on a regular basis, and in home services if needed. It also covers standard services such as immunizations.
Kentucky Child Now!
Kentucky Child Now! helps children to get health care at school or near school. The program can help diagnose children and refer to another doctor for severe illness. All children can receive medical, dental, and mental health. Check with your local school to decide if they are served by health care while at school.
Medicaid
Medicaid is typically for those who have income levels that put them in the bracket of poverty. Low income families with children can apply for help if they meet income requirements. Medicaid covers basic care and immunization for children.
County Health Care Centers
In the state of Kentucky, if you have not applied for and been accepted into a free or low cost health care program, there are centers that are located around the state that provide many health care benefits to their residents for free. Some of the services are immunizations, well child care check-ups, and lead screening. Many of these services are free or low cost, depending upon your income.
