Even if a shampoo for kids is labeled as safe and gentle, you must double check the ingredients list and make sure there aren't colors, fragrances and perfumes that may irritate your kid's eyes and skin. According to the "No More Toxic Tub" report published by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, many commercial brand children's bath products contain formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane, which are cancer-causing chemicals. Safe shampoos for kids should be organic and have a short list of ingredients that does not include any synthetic dyes or fragrances. Contact your pediatrician if your child exhibits signs of allergy or any type of skin rash.
