Warts are a common skin ailment. Warts are caused by a virus that grows and replicates in the skin, causing small growths to appear. High doses of vitamin A can change the characteristics of the skin, making it harder for the virus to live there. Eventually the virus will die and the wart will disappear. Direct application of vitamin A can also be used to irritate the wart and kill off the wart tissue.
Step 1
Crush a vitamin A tablet and mix it with a small amount of water to make a paste.
Step 2
Apply a small amount of the paste to the wart and cover the wart with a bandage.
Step 3
After 3 days, remove the bandage and use a piece of pumice to scrub off the dead skin. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
Step 4
Take between 20,000 and 30,000 units of vitamin A daily. The number of "units" will be printed on the label and may be given in "I.U."
