While it may be difficult to find the right person, finding something to do on a date in Los Angeles is much easier. Whether you want sweet and romantic or fun and active, Los Angeles has every kind of entertainment you desire. With beaches, mountains, trendy hot spots and hidden gems, Los Angeles is a treasure trove for the modern dater.

Santa Monica

Getting outside for some fun in the sun or even some cool night air can be a great way to have a relaxed date. Get some wheels under you, such as bikes, scooters or rollerblades, and zip up and down the paved lanes lining the beaches. Take a stroll onto the famous Santa Monica Pier, with its year-round carnival games, arcade, amusement park, carousel and restaurants. Then walk and enjoy the numerous shops, restaurants and street entertainers along Third Street Promenade, just a few blocks away.

Malibu

Both active and romantic possibilities await you just a 20-minute drive up the Pacific Coast Highway. Beautiful Malibu is perfect for a day at the beach, including some fantastic beach volleyball. Or, if you want to go more elegant, some of Malibu's fine dining with ocean views makes for a perfect romantic dinner for two. You can hear the waves feet away while listening to the pitter-patter of your hearts.

Griffith Park

The largest park within a single city in the United States has just about everything you need for a fantastic date. Take your pick: Horseback riding, hiking, golfing, a day at the zoo, grassy picnic areas and amazing views from the Griffith Observatory are all exciting ways to spend an afternoon together.

Griffith Park is lined with numerous walking and hiking trails, which can take you from one part of the immense park to another if you're an active couple. Otherwise, paved roads and ample parking can make your day easier.

Huntington Botanical Gardens

Nothing says romance like a stroll through the incredibly beautiful Huntington Gardens in Pasadena. More than 14,000 species of plants, trees and flowers fill 12 gardens sprawling across more than 120 acres. Take the guided tour, or go exploring yourselves. You might also take advantage of the Rose Garden Tea Room for a romantic high tea experience without the high tea attire. Come as you are, but enjoy tea, scones, finger sandwiches and salads in true British style overlooking Henry Huntington's immaculate roses.

If you want to cool off in some air conditioning, the Huntington Library and Art Collections are also on site. Add them to your itinerary and give yourselves a day of culture and cultivation.

Hiking Hollywood

See Hollywood in a whole new way by hiking the Hollywood hills together. Beside the glitzy homes sitting on slopes and stilts, Los Angeles has a few great hiking trails. Runyon Canyon not only takes you to where you can see everything happening in West Hollywood, but it also allows dogs off-leash. Fryman Canyon will take you through the Hollywood hills to places that still feel almost natural. Look down to get a glimpse of the rich and famous and the bustle of the city below.
