When you are overly tired, suffering from allergies or stressed, dark lines can appear under your eyes, according to "Foundations and Adult Health Nursing." Though rectifying the root cause of the dark lines is the best course of action in removing them, sometimes that simply isn't a possibility. The next best treatment, according to "Clinical Cosmetology," requires only a few items that you likely have at home and about an hour of time.
Step 1
Crush 10 to 20 fresh mint leaves with a mortar and pestle.
Step 2
Add two to three drops of lemon juice to the crushed mint leaves. Mix the lemon juice with the crushed mint leaves to form a paste.
Step 3
Apply the paste to the dark lines under your eyes. According to "Clinical Cosmetology," the mint leaves will constrict the blood vessels, reducing the fluid build up under the eyes and the lemon juice will lighten the color of the skin, removing the dark lines.
Step 4
Allow the paste to rest on your face for 20 to 30 minutes.
Step 5
Rinse the paste off of your face with cool water, which will aid in keeping the blood vessels constricted, according to "Milady's Standard Cosmetology."
