Smooth, blemish-free skin is not possible for everyone, but you can fake the look of clear skin by hiding blemishes in a natural way. It only takes a few products and some time to create the look of flawless skin. The key to hiding blemishes is to use a light hand with all products. In your attempt to hide blemishes, it is easy to over-apply make-up. This makes the blemish more noticeable and can further irritate skin.

Step 1

Apply a non-comedogenic moisturizer. The moisturizer will prevent makeup from caking on the blemish and making it more noticeable. A non-comedogenic brand will not block pores, and thus will help prevent new blemishes from forming.

Step 2

Smooth a primer over skin. Foundation primers create a smooth canvas for concealing products.

Step 3

Apply a foundation that is the same color as your skin over your entire face.

Step 4

Dot concealer on blemishes. Choose a concealer that is slightly lighter than your foundation to counteract redness in the blemishes.

Step 5

Dust your entire face with translucent powder. This sets the foundation and concealer so that they last all day.

Tips and Warnings

  • Choose a concealer with a creamy consistency for the most natural looking finish.
