It is common for fat to be located around the belly area. To some, this is not only unsightly, but also dangerous. According to Dr. Michael Jensen from the Mayo Clinic, belly fat can lead to many diseases and conditions, such as heart disease and stroke. While it is recommended to partake in a strength training routine that focuses on the abs, it is imperative to focus on what you are consuming. More often than not, people do not consume the amount of water they should. Instead, they drink soda, coffee or juices, which not only lead to weight gain, but also can cause bloating. Fat may not be the culprit located around your core; the problem may be bloating. The Mayo Clinic says, "Water flushes toxins out of vital organs." By drinking more water, you will not only be hydrated, but you will also reduce bloating and aid your digestive system.
