Gold's Gym was founded by Joe Gold more than 40 years ago. Gold's Gym opened its first fitness center in Venice Beach, California, and has paved the way to becoming one of the top fitness centers in the country. Gold's offers diverse amenities, including personal training, cardio and strength-training equipment and group fitness programs that provide an energetic and supportive fitness environment. Gold's Gym not only markets and sells its own fitness equipment, but it also presents online visitors with pertinent fitness training tips and basic workout programs.

Twelve Days of Fitness

The Gold's Gym 12 Days of Fitness is a workout designed to keep you fit during the Christmas holidays. In the midst of holiday parties and traditional family recipes, Gold's Gym created a 12-day workout program that incorporates strength training exercises--push-ups, crunches, pull-ups and kettlebells--variations of cardio training--cycling, running, stair stepper--and a little yoga and Pilates. The exercises are designed to work with many lifestyles and to allow you to perform a different style of training on each day in 45 minutes or less.

The Most Important Workout

Gold's Gym came up with a core-strengthening workout it considers the most important workout you'll ever do. Core training is beneficial when it comes to performing strength and cardio exercises as well as everyday activities such as vacuuming or playing with your kids. Core muscles consist of your lower back, abdominals and oblique muscles. Gold's developed its version of an ultimate core workout consisting of six critical exercises--crunches, squats, planks, back extension and side trunk raise--that incorporate using the stability ball, ab roller and hyperextension bench to target each muscle. This workout can be executed three days a week, and with the addition of cardio, can help you achieve a toned midsection within a month's time.

The Power of Plyometrics

Gold's Gym the Power of Plyometrics is a 20-minute, high-intensity workout that requires the use of your entire body. This workout is packed with explosive movements that engage your fast-twitch muscles during short bursts of intense activity while boosting your metabolism. The plyometric workout consists of performing two sets of each exercise with only one to two minutes of rest between each set. This workout is used by individuals at all fitness levels and incorporates some of the most popular plyometric drills--burpees, stair hops, split squats and medicine ball wood chops.
