Cellulite is a cluster of fatty deposits causing a dimpled appearance in the skin, usually on the thighs, hips, buttocks, waist, stomach and arms. Poor blood circulation and water retention weakens the connective tissue under the layers of skin, causing cellulite to appear. Your skin thickens and traps fluids and fats. Fat is pushed against your skin, giving it an orange-peel look. Luckily, there are a few ways to make your cellulite less noticeable.

Step 1

Eat a low-fat diet and follow an exercise program that combines aerobic activity and strength training to change the shape of your body, according to the American Council on Exercise. Target your areas with cellulite by incorporating area-specific exercises into your workout routine at least three times a week. If you are consistent with eating healthy and exercising, your cellulite should be less noticeable in one month.

Step 2

Drink green tea every day. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, clinical studies have shown that drinking green tea may increase your metabolism and contribute to weight loss. The faster your metabolism, the more calories you will burn. A faster metabolism means that any food you eat will be more quickly processed, and you'll gain its energy benefits sooner.

Step 3

Take a steam bath on a regular basis. Your blood circulation will increase, speeding up your metabolism rate. When your metabolic rate increases, so does your ability to burn fat and calories. Additionally, excess water weight is lost because of the high amount of perspiration. For optimal results, massage your problem areas while taking a steam bath.

Step 4

Massage Dead Sea mud on your areas with cellulite. Dead Sea mud has a high concentration of minerals, such as magnesium, calcium and potassium. These minerals promote blood circulation, encouraging the cottage-cheese appearance to flatten out and make your cellulite less noticeable.

Step 5

Deeply massage an anti-cellulite lotion onto your problem areas. Anti-cellulite lotions can make your surface skin look and feel smooth by reducing the appearance of cellulite, as well as the puffiness caused by cellulite. Caffeine and ginseng are common ingredients used in anti-cellulite lotions, as they stimulate your blood circulation.
