Stress on the eyes can cause blurred vision, double vision and decrease sight range, according to "Yoga Journal." Gradual loss of tone and flexibility in the eye muscles can also cause vision problems. To decrease stress on the eye muscles and improve flexibility and tone, practice a combination of relaxation, focus and peripheral vision exercises daily, advises the I-See website.

Rolling Eye Stretch

The rolling eye stretch increases flexibility in the muscles of the eyes. Sit comfortably with your shoulders upright over your hips, relaxing your head, neck and shoulders. Relax your eyes and focus your gaze straight ahead. Inhale and look up toward your eyebrows as high as you can. Slowly roll your eyes to the right, to the bottom, to the left and back to the top. Reverse the roll to the left. Repeat the roll to the right and left a total of two to three times. Do this exercise once a day at the end of the day to stretch the eye muscles, or every few hours if you are staring at electronics for more than two hours at a time.

Pencil Eye Focus Push-up

The pencil eye focus push-up engages the eye muscles to increase range of motion, according to Science Daily. Sit upright, pulling your shoulders away from your ears and keeping your head in neutral alignment. Hold a pencil at nose level and arm's length. Focus your sight on one of the letters on the pencil. Hold your gaze and slowly bring the pencil to your nose until you touch your nose or your vision blurs. Extend the pencil back out to arm's length and repeat the entire sequence five to eight times once a day.

Trataka Fire Gaze

The trataka fire gaze is a yoga eye exercise that engages the eye muscles, and stimulates focus both visually and mentally. Align your back in proper posture by engaging your core, your stomach, back, pelvic and hip muscles. Pull your shoulders down away from your ears and relax your neck and head, keeping your chin parallel to the floor. Place a candle at eye level about five to six feet away from you. Open your eyes, inhale slowly and hold your gaze on the flame without blinking. When you feel your eyes begin to tear and you need to blink, quickly shut them. Place your palms over your eyelids and visualize the flame. Hold the visual as long as you can. When you lose your mental picture of the flame, slowly open your eyes. Repeat the entire sequence three to five times.
