According to the American Council of Exercise, interval training uses both the anaerobic and aerobic systems to burn calories and abdominal fat. Running, whether indoors or outside burns calories helping to eliminate the tummy bulge. According to the website Health Status, a 150 lb. woman running for 30 minutes at 6 mile an hour will burn 342 calories. Running also uses the abs to keep the body stabilized while in motion.
