About Internal Cleansing Diets

The insides of the body have a tendency to become "toxic" over the course of time. This is caused from pollutants in the air, personal bad habits and chemicals in the food and medications that are consumed on a daily basis. Internal cleansing diets are used to clear the body of toxins and get it back to a healthy level.

Significance

When the body becomes toxic, it is not necessarily a life-threatening problem, but it can cause some uncomfortable daily symptoms. Fatigue can be seen and there can be a malabsorption of nutrients if the colon is impacted. You may experience depression, brain fog and headaches.

Internal cleansing diets serve a number of purposes. They help to cleanse the blood and colon of impurities and toxins, improve the function of the organs and also help the body regain mental and physical energy.

The idea behind an internal cleansing diet is to give your digestive system and organs a break and lessen the load that has been put upon them. Foods high in fat and sugar are eliminated, such as meats, dairy products, processed baked goods and refined foods. These foods are also difficult to digest and have little nutrient value.

Habits

Bad habits that can cause the body to become toxic are also given up with a cleansing diet. Smoking, drinking, taking illegal drugs and consuming caffeinated beverages are all examples of these.

Features

The authorized foods that are eaten on an internal cleansing diet are high in fiber, low in fat and made organically. Fruits, vegetables and whole grains, like quinoa and millet, are consumed in high amounts. Fruits and vegetables are eaten raw or they are juiced with the pulp included.
Fiber is a key ingredient with internal cleansing diets. This is because it helps push backed-up fecal matter out of the colon. The colon is the location in the body where nutrients and water are absorbed. If it is blocked, the body can become toxic and daily functions can be compromised.
