Eyelashes can look fuller and more prominent after being curled. A metal or plastic eyelash curler grasps the upper lashes and adds a curve to curl the lash hair. Adding heat to an eyelash curler ensures the curl stays in place and is more defined. Always use caution when curling your lashes; the eye and skin area can easily be damaged.
Step 1
Choose a metal eyelash curler. Although a plastic curler will work, too, a metal curler is better for holding and dispersing heat.
Step 2
Turn a blow dryer to its lowest setting. Blow the warm heat directly onto the rubber and metal base of the curler. The base is the curved portion of the eyelash curler.
Step 3
Blow hot air onto the curler thoroughly for 10 seconds. Be careful; the curler can quickly overheat. Add more heat if necessary.
Step 4
Open the curler and place the base of the upper lashes along the rubber edge. Clamp it shut and hold it for five seconds. Open the curler and allow the lashes to relax. Repeat the curling process two to three times. Add mascara for added definition to upper lashes.
Tips and Warnings
- Eyelash curlers only curl the top, upper lashes. Self-heating eyelash curlers are also available at beauty and cosmetic outlets.
- Don't leave any heated components where kids or animals can have access to them.
