"Organic Body Care Recipes" recommends combining rose hip seed oil with calophyllum and helichrysum oil to treat damaged skin including windburn, scars and stretch marks. According to "The Encyclopedia of Medicinal Plants," rose hips get their vibrant scarlet color from a high concentration of flavonoids, compounds that feed and heal the skin. Calophyllum and helichrysum are classic remedies that boost the scar-healing action of rose hip seed oil. Try this special oil to remove scars gently and naturally.

Step 1

Pour rose hip seed oil, calophyllum oil and helichrysum essential oil into the bottle.

Step 2

Rub the bottle with your hands to gently warm it. Put the lid on and shake the bottle until the oils are well-combined.

Step 3

Set the bottle in a warm dark place--not more than 90 F--for at least one day and to let the oils integrate fully.

Step 4

In the morning and in the evening, after cleansing your skin, apply a few drops of your formula to scars.

Tips and Warnings

  • Scars will fade gradually. The length of time it takes will depend on many factors including the age of the scar, your skin and overall health. The formula works best on new scar tissue--less than two years old. Apply the oil right away to new scars to speed healing and prevent permanent marks.
  • Talk to your doctor before using this remedy.
