Apparently, impacts cause its molecules to lock together, making it stiff and protective. Crashes and brushes with trees are less likely to make an impression on your skin, as the fabric is puncture-resistant. The padding is light and barely noticeable, an important feature in a bike short. The company also offers a shirt made with the same fabric, protective yet breathable.
